Perched on a remote cliff in Pismo Beach, Inn at the Cove overlooks coastal pebble beaches and rocky coves of the pacific. With great views and a modern contemporary style, this exceptional Inn meets your needs for comfort, relaxation, and romance.
Complimentary amenities offered at Inn at the Cove are self-parking, wifi, and daily continental breakfast. There is even a little library to borrow a book if you are looking for something to read while hanging out in a hammock.
Scattered around the Inn’s grounds are over-sized lounging swings with or without a canopy. It was great to relax in the swing while looking out at the blue ocean.
Oceanfront King Upper Level
We couldn’t pass up the chance for rooming in a suite with a 180° view of the ocean from our balcony. The vaulted ceiling added to the spacious design of this fresh and modern coastal decorated room.
The linens were soft and the bed was comfortable. A basket with lap blankets and binoculars were at our disposal, making the early morning lounging cozier.
Other in-room amenities included plush bathrobes and toiletries from Bath and Body Works.
Complementary Breakfast
Their website states they served a complimentary continental breakfast. However, we were surprised to see they also served hot waffles, eggs, and sausage.
The coffee and juices were fresh and adequate. The pastries were almost gone by the time we got down to the breakfast area, but there were plenty of other options. I liked the yogurt and gourmet granola with extra toppings like coconut, dried fruits, and seeds.
“Private” Beach and Wildlife
Down a pathway from behind the Inn, is a staircase leading to a cove called Elmer Ross Beach. Surrounded by wildflowers and beachy shrubs, there was so much to look at while descending. Different kinds of birds soared in the sky while singing their hallelujahs.
While walking on the sand, I was surprised to find it was course and hurting my feet. To relieve the discomfort, I tried walking in the shallow water but stepped into tar. The tar got stuck on my foot and sandal and took a long time to remove. I highly recommend wearing laced up shoes or good water shoes if you plan on spending time on the sand.
One of our favorite things we did at this beach was to observe the wildlife. There were several sea lions, plenty of birds, and sand crabs to find.
Staying at the Inn at the Cove was a great decision for a stop on our romantic anniversary getaway because the views and ambiance fit our desires. It would be a fantastic location for families and other travelers (including pets.)
