Two Centers:

There are two centers at Discovery Ridge; one in the West end and the Main Discovery center in the north.

The Main Center has the most parking and is closest to the largest dinosaur track deposits.

Walking Dinasour Ridge

Our favorite way to experience Dinasour Ridge is to walk the trail. Starting from the small parking lot near the West side Discovery Center, we proceed up the ridge.

Raptor Tracks

We were really excited to see the raptor tracks exhibit. Apparently raptor tracks are extremely rare so to be able to see them in public was such a cool opportunity. Unfortunately, the track must be so weatherworn that we couldn’t actually make it out. Look for yourself and let us know if you can spot it.

Plan Your Adventure: Tips for Visiting Dinosaur Ridge

  • Be ready for a walk up hill (at altitude.) If you traveled to Denver from sea level be ready to get winded!
  • If you want to make this a quick visit, park at the Main center and walk to the “stomping ground” exhibit. The rest is really cool, but that is the “big show”.
  • Bring sunblock and water. There is no shade on this walk and getting dehydrated and overheated are big concerns,
